Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Susan Sheahan earned her bachelors degree graduating cum laude from Fontbonne University. She then came to Florida in 1993 to escape the Midwestern winters and to join her parents and sister. After being a dental assistant for several years, she was accepted to Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in 1997.
    She pursued and obtained a 2 year scholarship from the United States Air Force while in Dental School. After graduation, Captain Sheahan entered the program of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Barksdale Air Force Base in Sheveport Louisiana. This was
an excellent training opportunity where she learned IV sedation and extraction of wisdom teeth, molar root canals, TMJ therapy, periodontal surgery, crown and
bridge, and cosmetic dentistry.
    Upon completion of the AEGD, Captain Sheahan was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City Florida where she continued dental care in the Air Force for 2 years. Upon completion of her obligation to the Air Force, she moved to Ellenton Florida with her husband and began practicing in Sarasota Florida as an Associate for 4 years. Dr. Sheahan and her husband recently acquired Cortez Dental in Bradenton Florida and are enthusiastic about serving the Bradenton Community.     Her mission is to provide excellent dental care focusing on patient comfort. Her professional staff and state of the art technological office will bring dentistry to the next level of service. Dr. Sheahan and her staff are ever improving personal and technical skills to greater benefit the delivery of outstanding dental care.
